The Museum of Mountain Flying was created in 1993 to preserve Montana's aviation history, as well as to immortalize Missoula’s Johnson Flying service. The museum has a modern facility. Their collection includes a Stearman bi-plane, a Twin Beechcraft Model 18, a Huey helicopter, and the legendary DC-3/C-47, N24320, which fascinate the visitors. Thanks to dedicated historians and aviation enthusiasts, the museum remains the most visited tourist attraction in the area. The Museum of Mountain Flying is located on the east side of the airport on Aviation Way. You should just follow the signs.

Smokejumpers are highly experienced and trained specialists who parachute into remote areas, in national forests and fight against the spread of wildfires. All around the USA, the most significant training base for smokejumpers is located in Missoula. Guided tours are available and given of the parachute loft and training facilities. Admission is free, and donations are accepted.

The Missoula International Airport provides helicopter charter and flight school services.
The service was incorporated in 1996 and began with a single Helicopter which was used for flight training. Over the past 12 years, the company has expanded the operations and fleet to include sightseeing, charter, photography and film, fire-fighting, advanced natural resource helicopter flight training, advanced mountain flying training, and long line external load training.
